These were a series of risograph greeting cards done in December 2019 for Queen Bee.
This is the identity for Brigit2022/23, an exciting new programme of events to acknowledge the contributions of Irish women through the ages and welcome the beginning of Spring. This festival draws inspiration from the Celtic goddess Brigit, associated with creativity and wisdom, and the traditional Gaelic festival of Imbolc.

‘Inception Horizon’ was a wonderful multi-disciplinary event celebrating karst cave systems held in Trinity College Dublin in early March 2020. I was commissioned to design a series of projections, a poster and a programme for the occasion.
As Avoca's graphic designer, I worked on a huge variety of projects. These ranged from textile design to food packaging and everything in between. I would liaise with the fashion and display departments as well as the food/restaurant sections to create new and innovative design appropriate to their needs.
Meet the new identity for the wonderful emporium of all things chocolatey that is NearyNógs. They ethically source sustainable cacao beans, supporting the rainforest alliance and practice direct trade where possible. They pay above market value for cacao beans, to ensure that the Cacao farmers get a living wage, ensuring survival of the cacao industry and the farmers’ livelihoods.
Shane and Dot were an absolute pleasure to work with. For the logo and 'Irish collection' bar packaging, we were inspired by their location which is nestled between the Mourne Mountains and the sea in the lovely Co. Down.

The Deaf Wife, the story of a woman's descent into deafness, is a limited edition hard-back book written by Andrew Kelly with illustrations by Christine Ellison.
As designer, I sought to reflect the woman's experience through the use of expressive typography and layout.
Music Network makes high quality live music accessible to communities throughout Ireland, while helping musicians to develop fulfilling careers. I have worked as their designer for 3 years now on a range of interesting projects including branding, posters, brochures and digital content.
The Dawson is a high-end restaurant and bar. The client wanted to create a sophisticated yet simple identity which was to be applied to the menu suite and signage. The use of monoprint illustrations and kraft stock perfectly reflected the restaurant's understated elegance.
This is an identity for a University College Dublin (UCD/iCRAG) programme which aims to engage young people (mainly between the ages of 14-18) with the geosciences, and is particularly aimed at engaging them with the environmental aspects of geoscience.
Fallon & Byrne are a slow-food inspired brasserie with grocer and wine bar. Working alongside Illustrator Steve Doogan, a new look was created for elements of the look and feel of this well-known Dublin establishment.
This is the second album design I have done for Colm, a wonderful musician I have known for a long time. It was a pleasure to work with Steve Doogan on this project.
This identity and book were commissioned to celebrate IMMA's 10 year anniversary.
The identity was foil-blocked onto a large format hard-backed cloth book. A belly band was added to give this collection of work an extra sense of occasion.

This 140 page publication, known as the Shadow Report, employed unconventional sizing, embossing and vivid use of colour and typography to help it stand out in an arena often prone to overly conservative design.
The Word 2010 annual conference identity was designed with Clare Bell for ATypI.
Our aim was to capture the typographic heritage of Ireland without using jaded Irish typographic tropes.
A flourescent ink was used to further subvert any further preconceived notions of Irishness.
The identity is based on apostrophes from the typeface Nib by Tom Foley.
This is an artist's book designed for Ciara Healy.
A true collaboration between artist and designer, I introduced a variety of found imagery and ephemera which complemented the artist's work. I used a perfect bound cloth cover with foil blocking on the front and back.
This project was awarded a silver bell in 2007 by ICAD, the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design.
Frock is a clothes shop in Co. Wexford specialising in designer womenswear. The identity was designed to be simple yet playful and was applied to signage, stationary and gift vouchers.
The business card and gift vouchers employed a perforated tear-off mechanism which ensured each detached card was unique.
This project was commended in 2008 by ICAD, the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design.
The Roaming Writer in Residency programme is an Irish Writers Centre initiative.
Travelling from north to south on our railway lines, the Roaming WIR listened to voices and conversations of people on the trains, accumulating stories and building a treasure chest of potential workshops or essay ideas.
These 6 postcards were designed based on these ideas.
I was asked to design CD packaging for the internationally renowned Rodrigo y Gabriela.
They had some existing imagery of both themselves and of their home that they wanted to work with. The entire text of the inner 16 page booklet was handwritten to evoke a hand-crafted feel.
The Mellow Tonics are a mixed voice choir formed in Dublin city centre in 2015.
I have designed a number of posters and programmes for them over the last eight years, most recently for their performances 'Northern Lights' and ‘We catch our breath’.

Kíla are a long-established Irish traditional band. Having worked with them on many occasions, I was asked to design the CD packaging for a collaborative project between themselves and Oki, a Japanese musician from the indigenous Ainu people in the far north of the country.
Following that project, I designed the packaging for 'Suas Síos', the band's tenth album.
This was a series of leaflets given to school-children on the subject of poverty.

The Golden Mean is an album of music by traditional musicians Eoin Dillon, Steve Larkin, Desmond Cahalan and Frank Tate.

This identity was designed for a Gastropub in Julianstown, Co. Meath. The restaurant/pub was named after a local lime kiln on the banks of the River Boyne.
Lime kilns are structures in which limestone rock was burnt at a high temperature to produce lime dust. This dust was then used to spread on grass land or used to make bricks.
The identity was used on signage, menus, stationary and a range of artisan food products.
This metallic foiled annual report was commissioned to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Co-operation Ireland, an all-island peace-building charity.

The brief was to reflect the whimsical but sometimes dark nature of the album's sound.
I was invited by the OPW to design an invitation to the opening of Portumna Castle Courtyard.
Further to this, I designed a bilingual invite for the official re-launch of St. Cormac’s Chapel on the Rock of Cashel. The design was inspired by the medieval wall paintings inside the chapel.
Free-standing outdoor exhibition panels were also designed to illustrate the history and the conservation processes used for this internationally-acclaimed historical site.
