I have had the pleasure of working with Dara on numerous occasions, We worked together on the development of some promotional material for early episodes of arts programmes on RTÉ Radio 1 and most recently on the design of my debut album cover. With her help, we explored many possibilities looking for the best visual design for the project and she was endlessly patient and flexible. Her sharp eye and expertise meant that the entire process was a pleasure and that the the final product was completed efficiently and to a very high standard.

We employed QueenBee (Dara) to work the graphic design elements of an event called Inception Horizon – a celebration of subterranean karst cave systems hosted in the Museum Building of Trinity College in 2019. This was a public dissemination event which aimed to take the audience on a journey deep underground, following the flow of water through song, sculpture, visual projections and spoken word. From the very first encounter Dara was totally committed to the idea of the project that we were trying to develop and was full of creative ideas that helped to shape it into the success it became. She was incredibly easy to work with (and fun!) but also challenged us with visionary concepts which resulted in a stunning series of projections onto the wall during the event, as well our sublime event programme and posters.

We chose to work with Dara due to her strong portfolio and her demonstrated understanding of the brief and our particular needs. Dara designed a template for us to form the basis of a suite of educational materials for primary school children, including general layout, choice of font and colour palette. She then worked with our team of illustrators to communicate these design guidelines. She also completed a large volume of typesetting, with some complex elements, within a tight timeframe. The layout and design details supported intuitive navigation of the booklets, while also being visually appealing to both children and adults. The result was a set of materials with a contemporary look and feel. Each component works well individually, while together they form a cohesive family. We would highly recommend Dara’s work and are delighted with the end product.
